Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Phoenix Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Volunteers are the heart and soul of Komen. We are always looking for dedicated individuals to help us in the fight against breast cancer. The first step in becoming a Komen Phoenix Affiliate Volunteer is to complete our Volunteer Profile. Once we have your current profile in the database, you will be contacted via an e-mail blast on an as needed basis. The amount of volunteer opportunities depends upon the number of upcoming activities.

Job Description:
Volunteer Committee is needed to contact volunteers for upcoming opportunities, gather health fair/event details, deliver materials to events, keep track of event history, thank volunteers, organize volunteer orientations/trainings, etc.

Job Description:
Duties include: answering phones, helping with mailings/delivering materials, filing, etc. Volunteers with computer skills (Word, Access, Excel) can assist with data entry, database management and internet research.

Health Fair Services, Expos, Special Events

What:
Groups throughout our community often request our participation in their health fairs, expos and special events. This usually involves an information table or booth for educational materials to be displayed and distributed as well as merchandise being sold.
Job Description:
Volunteers are needed to deliver materials and merchandise to the event, set up and take down Komen's display, staff the booth and answer any questions that attendees might have, hand out materials and help sell merchandise. Usually there are multiple shifts with 2 or more volunteers per shift.

Community Outreach Ambassadors

What:
Groups throughout the community often request people to speak about breast cancer and breast health topics. The Phoenix Affiliate has set-up and trained a network of people to speak on a variety of topics: survivor stories, treatment options, general breast health, etc.
Job Description:
Volunteers are needed to join the Phoenix Affiliate Community Outreach Ambassadors. Training is mandatory.
