Survivors

SurvivorsSurvivor Family

Komen Phoenix cherishes and honors our Survivors. These women and men are an inspiration and light the way in our efforts to eradicate breast cancer as a life threatening disease. It is our promise to celebrate and honor, as well as, provide encouragement and hope to the women and men living with breast cancer – from the newly diagnosed to long-term Survivors, their families and friends.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure has been in the forefront of the breast cancer movement for 25 years.  The organization has changed how the world deals with and talks about this devastating disease.  One of Komen’s many accomplishments has been helping to transform millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, of all the cancer survivors in the country, the 2.3 million breast cancer survivors represent the largest group of survivors of any kind of cancer in the United States — a living testament to the power of society and science to save lives.

If you are a Survivor and would like to be added to our list for upcoming Survivor events, please click hereto fill out the form.  Once completed, please e-mail it to alevin@komenphoenix.org or you can fax it at (602) 544-3366.  Both should be to the attention of Allison Levin.  Thank you!

Co-Survivors

What do you do when a friend, a family member or a colleague is diagnosed with breast cancer?

What do you say? How do you act? How can you help?

There are as many ways of being a co-survivor as there are people. Thoughtful gestures big and small mean a great deal to survivors, whether they've just been diagnosed or completed treatment years ago.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure has created a new program for co-survivors that offers advice on how to support a person with breast cancer and provides information on what to expect before, during and after treatment.
