Circle of Hope

Circle of Hope® Annual Donor Recognition Program

The power of a promise is ever present in the dedication and commitment of the Phoenix Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and metropolitan area survivors, families and friends, event participants, corporate sponsors and annual donors.

Circle of Hope® is our annual individual giving program that recognizes and honors individuals for their annual contribution to Komen. Over the past five years over $180,000 has been raised through this program to support the annual Grants fund. We have expanded our benefits at the $125 and $250 levels as well as offering program social and educational events available to our many valued donors.

Komen for the Cure works to spread the life-saving message of early detection to millions of individuals each year. Evidence that this message is reaching its intended audience was revealed in recent National Cancer Institute data that indicates an accelerated decline in breast cancer death rates in the past few years. The decline in mortality rates suggests that the message is taking hold and that better screening and treatment options are improving care. The data also reveals that there is much more work to be done especially in populations who face disparity in access to screening and treatment.

In April 2006, the Phoenix Affiliate granted locally $1,276,000 for breast cancer education, screening and treatment in our community and over $374,000 to the Komen Foundation National Research Fund. We take pride in the fact that 75% of the money raised each year stays right here in Arizona. The $1,276,000 represents the dollars requested by hospitals, institutions and breast health programs to serve uninsured and underinsured individuals diagnosed with breast cancer in the nine counties in Central and Northern Arizona. As evidenced in the grant proposals submitted to us each year, the need to fund additional quality programs is there. Please help us increase the 2007 annual grant fund through your Circle of Hope® contribution.

The Circle of Hope® program offers several giving levels and associated benefits. Donors will be invited to attend special events throughout the year and have an opportunity to meet cutting edge leaders in the breast health field. You can enjoy special Circle of Hope® signature merchandise, Race day benefits and the tremendous satisfaction that you are making a difference.
