15th ANNUAL KOMEN PHOENIX RACE FOR THE CURE®

Sunday, October 14, 2007
Downtown Phoenix - Capitol District

FRIENDS FOR THE CURE®

Friends for the Cure is the Komen Phoenix Affiliate's Race pledge program. Whether you are a registered Race participant or not, you can make a difference by making a donation or by collecting donations from your family members, friends and colleagues.

IF EVERY RACE PARTICIPANT RAISED $150
- ABOUT THE COST OF A MAMMOGRAM AND BREAST HEALTH EDUCATION -
WE WOULD RAISE $6 MILLION TO HELP SAVE LIVES AND
END BREAST CANCER FOREVER.

WHY HELP?

In 2007, an estimated 178,480 women and 2,030 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 40,460 women and 450 men will lose their lives to this disease. Raising additional pledges means you will have a greater impact on the lives of women and men affected by breast cancer in Central and Northern Arizona. Since 1993, the Phoenix Affiliate has granted over $11 million to breast cancer treatment, education, prevention and outreach programs in Central and Northern Arizona and to breast cancer research.

To celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure, we challenge each person to collect or directly donate $15 for 15 years of the Race in Phoenix, or $150 - the approximate cost of a mammogram and breast health education.
We need your help!

HOW IT WORKS

Getting started is easy!

To make a general donation online:
For general donations, go to www.active.com/donate/phoenix2007, enter the amount of the contribution and hit 'continue'.

To make an online donation on behalf of a Race participant or Race team:
To view a Race participant or Race team webpage and make a donation, please select from the appropriate drop-down box at www.active.com/donate/phoenix2007 and follow the prompts.

For Race spectators only who want to show their support as a member of Friends for the Cure:
Unable to participate in this year's Race but want to become an active Friends for the Cure fundraiser? You can set up a free personal Friends for the Cure fundraising webpage at www.active.com/donate/phoenix2007. Select the 'Become a Fundraiser' link  and then choose the appropriate link if you are going to 'Fundraise as an Individual,' 'Create a Fundraising Team' or 'Join a Fundraising Team.'

For Race Participants who registered online via Active:
All Race participants who registered online via Active have their own personal webpage that can accept donations. Check your personal email inbox for an email from Active that contains your username and password and a link to set-up your webpage. If you do not see this email, you can go ahead and set-up your own Friends for the Cure page in the same manner as those Race participants who registered by mail or in-person (see below).

For Race Participants who registered by mail or in-person:
If you registered for the Race by mail or in-person, you can still set-up your own fundraising webpage and start collecting donations online from your friends and family! Select the 'Become a Fundraiser' link at www.active.com/donate/phoenix2007, and then choose the appropriate link if you are going to 'Fundraise as an Individual,' 'Create a Fundraising Team' or 'Join a Fundraising Team.'

Thank you for going that 'extra mile' by participating in our
Friends for the Cure program!
