With over 15 years of leadership development experience, Beverly brings her organizational leadership, resource development and marketing/media and community relations to the Komen Phoenix Affiliate. Not new to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Beverly served the Southern Arizona Affiliate for over 8 years as a volunteer, Race for the Cure Chair and the last five and a half years as their Executive Director. With a strong belief in servant leadership, Beverly finds the Promise of Susan G. Komen for the Cure the most fulfilling work of her career and brings her love of people, service and leadership to her proven abilities in leading and supporting teams.
Bridget is responsible for coordinating the Affiliate’s more than 1,300 full-time and seasonal volunteers and will help facilitate the various special events hosted by the Affiliate throughout the year. Bridget lives in the Glendale/Peoria area.
Shawn brings more than 13 years of experience to his role as the Phoenix Affiliate’s Development Director where he helps attain the financial support needed to keep the affiliate’s research, education and treatment grants thriving. A few of Shawn’s career highlights include his work at Georgetown University as a Director of Development; his time with Washington, D.C.-based DCI Group for which he helped Fortune 50 clients develop and execute winning public policy campaigns; and his tenure with Adams Hussey & Associates where he led the telemarketing, direct mail and internet campaigns of numerous non-profit organizations. Shawn’s greatest career satisfaction comes from providing hope, comfort, education and resources to breast cancer patients as the world waits for a cure.
Robin joins Komen Phoenix from a previous role with Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s national offices in Dallas. As Development Associate, Robin will assist with fund development through third-party relationships and special events. Robin lives in Chandler.
An energetic and compassionate individual, Cyndi is drawn to working for service-based organizations. Before joining the Komen Phoenix team, she had supported the organization by spearheading Komen fund-raising opportunities at a previous employer. As the Affiliate’s Office and Finance Manager, Cyndi’s professional experience in accounting, personnel management and multi-tasking keeps things running smoothly.
Sharon will oversee the Community Outreach Ambassador Program, in which a group of trained volunteers deliver the Komen message to the public through various events and speaking engagements. Sharon lives in Cave Creek.
Frank oversees the Komen Phoenix community grants program, ensuring the Affiliate continues to meet identified community needs. He will also serve as the first point of contact to those requesting breast health and breast cancer care support. Frank lives in Surprise.
Heather has an extensive background in event management and working with non-profit organizations, including Special Olympics Arizona and the Susan G. Komen Arizona 3-Day for the Cure. She brought this experience to the Komen Phoenix Affiliate when she served as Co-Chair of the 2006 Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure. Heather played an integral role in transitioning the Race manager role to an in-house position and she officially joined the staff in this capacity in 2007. Today, Heather oversees every aspect of the Race, including managing the Race committee.
