Komen Phoenix Outreach Volunteer Training Scheduled

Interested in volunteering for Komen Phoenix? 

Come join us if you are: 

One who strives to carry out the promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever…
Trained Community Outreach Ambassadors who want to acquire additional (speaker and / or media training)
Trained Community Outreach Ambassadors who want to learn more about other volunteer opportunities (Komen Outreach Representative)  

Komen Outreach Volunteers are a vital link to carrying out the promise of Susan G. Komen throughout Central and Northern Arizona. 

The Komen Phoenix Affiliate now has TWO volunteer outreach programs to
better serve the needs of those who have a passion for the cure:

Community Outreach Ambassador (COA) Program
and “introducing”
the Komen Outreach Representative (KOR) Program

Community Outreach Ambassadors (COAs) carry the Komen message to help educate the community about breast health and breast cancer at health fairs, expos, schools, support groups and speaking engagements.  COAs are trained to be knowledgeable about the most recent and common issues that arise when breast health and breast cancer is discussed, as well as local resources for screening and treatment. COA events typically take place during the day and occasionally on weekends.

COAs:

  • Represent the Komen Phoenix Affiliate
  • Breast health focused
  • Attend health focused events
  • Mainly daytime events
     

Komen Outreach Representatives (KORs) represent the Komen Phoenix Affiliate at various community and Komen beneficiary events. KORs are trained to be knowledgeable about the history of Susan G Komen, our Phoenix Affiliate, basic breast health information, fundraising, and local screening and treatment resources. KOR events typically take place during the evenings and on weekends.

KORs:

  • Represent the Komen- Phoenix Affiliate
  • Attend community events and Komen beneficiary events
  • Evening. weekend and weekday events 
     

If you are interested in becoming a Community Outreach Ambassador, a Komen Outreach Representative, or attending Speaker and/or Media training please join us at our next training session.
